Red, White & Blue

Before sitting down to write this post, I considered & reconsidered whether or not to actually go through with it. Let's be real, the world is full of people who have very big opinions on topics of Politics & Religion & to be quite honest, I am not really one of them. I don't consider myself hard core Republican or Democratic, I have the same opinions as people on both sides. I refuse to compromise certain parts of my beliefs in order to side totally with one party, I'd rather just be in the middle & listen to the world rant & rave about how horrible people who think opposite they do, are. To be quite honest, and blunt, it's a waste of time. Everyone has their own opinions and no amount of articles, statistics or individuals attempts will change the minds of the stubborn. I digress.

What is making me aggravated right now has nothing to do with a specific political party or any of their policies or promised policies but rather, I just don't feel like I am getting the truth out of either side. It just seems like these men are sitting around trying to bad mouth the other, which I understand is the point, but shouldn't it only be to an extent? Maybe I'm being to harsh on both of them, and I'll be the first to admit that, but I sat there last week, watched the entire debate, really attempted to understand what they were saying and what it would mean for me. I got absolutely nothing out of it. I felt horrible for the mediator, he couldn't reign either candidate in & they just stood up there bickering back at forth.

All I want is a place where I can go, get informed & not feel like the information I am receiving is tainted because the platform it is being presented on to me is biased. Maybe I am living in a fantasy world & there is absolutely no such place & if that's the case, then so be it. At the end of the day & come November 6th I refuse to be the person standing in line who did not do everything she could to be as informed as possible before making the decision on who should run our country.

So if anyone out there has a suggestion, a website, a book or just wants to chat about this, pleeeeeaasseee let me know!

  1. Tell me about it! I live in one of the most highly campaigned swing states right now... If I see one more attack ad, I may scream. Neither, please.

  2. Why does either have to be president? All they both care about is winning. Our country is going down the tubes and this whole political party system is not helping. I wish political parties would just go away. I am not a Democrat or Republican. I think political parties are completely ridiculous. I think if our founding fathers could see the way our country is today, they would have probably not fought for independence. Why fight so hard to be free when we are slaves to government? A complete waste. People always say they are proud to be an American and that we live in a free country. Not so.

  3. I totally agree with you. I'm a Christian, but I don't always agree totally with Republicans or Democrats because of my religion - I think that's a copout for some people. Totally side with one party because of religion and relieve yourself of the duty you owe your country to get informed?! No. Anyway, I used this site www.isidewith.com to see which candidate I agreed with more. I was actually kind of surprised with my results. Hope it helps.
