Bridal Bootcamp Week 5 : Bombshell Bride in Progress
3:53:00 PM
It's Monday and it's another edition of our Bridal Bootcamp with Sworkit! I can't believe we are already 5 weeks into this! It feels like yesterday I chatted with Leanna about doing this, time has really been flying here lately!
Tip #5 : Know when to DIY and know when to spend the money on a professional.
Now for everyone this can mean something different. There are people who are great at somethings and not at others so each person's DIY ability is a little different. The point being, know your limits and know where to budget. If you are a flower enthusiast and know just how to put floral arrangements together, go for it! But if not, it may be worth it to budget in a florist of any level to help you out. The stress level you face will be less and is worth every penny you put into that professional.
In this day and age of Pinteresting everything it's easy to think we have to do it all ourselves but that just isn't case.
In this day and age of Pinteresting everything it's easy to think we have to do it all ourselves but that just isn't case.
Here's what we DIY-ed for our wedding...
Programs:
We got a handy dandy program kit from Michaels and just whipped them up ourselves instead of paying an online company to do it for us, this saved us quite a bit!
Bridesmaid Make Up Bags:
Okay so this was only PART of our bridesmaid gifts. I was super into getting something personalized but didn't have the funds to get each girl a personal monogram on their make up bags so I purchased this bags and added their initial myself. This wasn't their entire gift, but I was very happy with how these turned out and I think they did too! It was cute and cost effective, especially since we had quite a large wedding party!
Table Numbers and Menu Cards":
We searched like crazy for a cute and unique table number set and figured we would just take the leap and do it ourselves. We got these frames quite cheaply and added the rhinestones onto the front, printed out the numbers and bam! Then the menu's we just used the same font as the programs and I cut them up all on my own and sat them at each place setting. Again, saving money on printing by doing it ourselves!
Candy Buffet Favors:
So choosing a favor is one of those things that I thought a LOT about. I didn't want to do anything that was tacky but I also knew that with the amount of people we had at the wedding, we had to come up with something SUPER cost effective. My mom and I went to a bridal show and saw a company advertising their Candy Bar set ups. We LOVED the idea but not the cost. So we decided to go at it ourselves and man am I glad that we did! We already had many of the jars from previous events and only had to invest in a few of them, which with a 40% off coupon at Michaels wasn't too bad! The candy we purchased wholesale and after setting up everything on my Mom's dining room table we knew exactly what we wanted! Let me just say this was a COMPLETE hit at the wedding, everyone loved it and made tons of candy bags!
