" Is your house on fire, Clark?"

The second Thanksgiving is over I go into complete Christmas mode

{Okay confession, even before Thanksgiving is over I have been known to dive into Christmas}

Anyway, one of my FAVORITE things to do is curl up on my couch {with or without Andrew, he really isn't the "let's sit and watch Christmas movies all night" type of guy} and have a marathon, of what I would consider to be the best Christmas movies out there.

Instead of just sharing an arbitrary list with you all I have put together my list along with some clips and trailers from the movies!

Here are my top ten... Enjoy!!! :)

1. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation: Now I don't know about you but this is the funniest movie in my opinion. I will watch this one upwards of five or six times before Christmas comes, maybe even more. Just can't help it. **a little warning, if you haven't seen this movie I wouldn't go blaring this clip around an office or little kids, it's funny sure but for the adults in the house :)**

2. White Christmas: All around just a classic movie. We watch this every year at my parents house while decorating the tree. I can probably quote the whole thing, it never gets old!

3. Santa Clause is Coming to Town: I don't care how old you are this is just a great Christmas movie and the songs are just so darn catchy. I used to have this on VHS but a few years back I went out and bought a whole collection of old Christmas movies on DVD {including this one} so that my future kiddos will be able to watch it!

4. RENT: I don't know why I just associate this movie with Christmas. Maybe I am the only one, and I'm okay with that!

5. ELF: Do I really need to explain why this is on the list?!

6. Miracle on 34th Street: This version is my absolute favorite!

7. The Santa Clause: Every single one of these movies are amazing. I just really enjoy this scene from the first one :)

8. It's a Wonderful Life: Growing up this was always my Dad's FAVORITE Christmas movie so we all were forced to watch it even if we didn't want to. Today I am glad that we did, I absolutely love everything about this movie!!

9. The Family Stone: Now I couldn't find a great clip that I wanted to share so the trailer will just have to do. I have already watched this movie twice and intend on watching it many more times. This has instantly became a staple in my Christmas movie list

10. Fred Claus: Vince Vaughn is hilarious and made me absolutely fall in love with this movie.

I could go on and on but I think these top ten will suffice for now :)

INSTALATELY!!!

I don't want to jinx it but this week seems to be flying by, which is TOTALLY fine with me!

We have already made it to Wednesday which means I get to share with you some of the stuff that has been going on via Instagram lately by linking up with the lovely Jenn

1. If I haven't said it already, this pumpkin pie was delicious & both families LOVED it this Thanksgiving
2. This yellow llama has been Mab's favorite toy since we brought her home, and now, well she has killed it :(
3. I caught Andrew browsing the blog, love him!

4. Game night! Anyone know the game? lol
5. Thanksgiving wore her out too.
6. Nothing is more exciting than having my tree all up and decorated, just makes me all happy!

7. Turkey hash with the leftovers from Thanksgiving {recipe in previous post!}

8. I'm just so excited!!

9. We celebrated Thanksgiving on Wednesday at work, so much food!

What to do with that left over turkey {Recipe}

Okay so we all love turkey & on Thanksgiving we indulge in this delicious food.

Once this glorious day is over we are left with an abundance of left overs, & it may just be me but it gets old eating plain turkey & turkey sandwiches day after day.

I turned to an old recipe last night, one that my family has made every post-Thanksgiving since I can remember. We call it Turkey Hash.

Looks delicious, right?!

Here is what you will need:

Left over turkey

Potatoes

{make the portion of potatoes to turkey even}

Your favorite turkey gravy

{You will need a good amount of gravy, I would say whatever you think you will need, get a little more than that}

An onion

Celery

{I used three small stalks}

What to do:

Peel and cube potatoes

Place potatoes in a pan with water on the stove, heat up until they are JUST about done

{And by done I mean, soft... You don't want them mooshy but you don't want them really hard}

Shred up the leftover turkey

Dice up the onion and celery

Once you are done set the turkey, onion and celery aside

While the potatoes continue to soften make your gravy

{Since I used the packet I just followed their directions}

Now for the fun part...

Once the potatoes are done strain out the water

Proceed to place all ingredients {potatoes, turkey, onion, celery} into an oven safe dish

I did layers, turkey, celery, onion, potatoes, more turkey, celery, onions, potatoes etc.

Now pour the gravy over the whole thing

Make sure to take it slow so that it seeps all the way down to the bottom

Place this in the oven for about twenty-twenty five minutes, really this part is up to you, since all of these ingredients are already cooked and edible it is just based on how done you want it.

And voila you have Turkey Hash!

I like to serve it over a bed of left over stuffing that I warm up in the microwave

{I was informed that cooking the stuffing into the dish itself just doesn't turn out right}

It's been a while

Really guys it's been a while... Having a four day weekend is just not normal for me so I decided to enjoy every minute of it {& unfortunately blogging just didn't happen even though I had every intention of doing so}

Now that I am back to the real world...

I'm going to share with you all some of the fun stuff that happened this Thanksgiving weekend :)

Wednesday night

visited a friend in the hospital and then had my sister, cousin and bff jess over for some wine & girl time!

Quite a bit of wine was consumed by this point... As if you couldn't tell

Thursday, Turkey Day

spent it with both sides of the family, ate entirely too much & by the end of round one Mab was ready for her afternoon siesta.

I also came to the conclusion that I really want a TV in my kitchen. While I was baking I had to just listen to the parade & had no time to actually watch it. I look forward to the parade every year so it was kind of sad.

really just flew by.

Oh & also, this quilt has been happening lately as well, I am going to be giving it to my cousin tomorrow for his little girl, just wanted to wait until I was giving it to him before sharing it with you all :)

Sunday, just chilled out, worked on the afghan that I am crocheting :)

So that's about it! Hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving, let the Christmas season begin!!
