Happy Second Birthday Oliver

A week ago we celebrated Oliver's SECOND birthday! I seriously can't believe we have a two year old, it seems surreal. He's turning into such a smart, sometimes too smart, little kid. Okay so anyone who knows the Midwest knows that we normally get super cold weather around this time of the year. Note the outfit I wore above, see that? Sleeveless! Yes, it was about eighty degrees the day we celebrated. February and eighty?! I'll take it every single time.

I was so happy with how all the decorations turned out!

Oliver's favorite thing as of right now are cars and trucks, hence the décor.

I swear this kid is such a ham, when everyone started singing "Happy Birthday" his eyes just lit up.

Charlie got to enjoy the party as well, cake is definitely one of his favorites!

On another note, the blouse I wore I bought probably six or seven years ago and the last time I wore it, before his party, was at least four years ago. I just love being able to reinvent outfits to fit whatever stage of life I am in. That's the main thing I think about when making a purchase, "Is this an impulse buy that I'll only wear once or is it something I can wear multiple different ways?!" Of course there are those times where the impulse buys and items you only wear once are totally worth it, but it's always worth thought and consideration!

I'm Back!

Wow, it's been a really long time since I have been here!! Allow me to apologize and explain where I have been and what I've been up to...

Oliver James turned TWO!

We welcomed a second son into this world SEVEN months ago.

Needless to say we have been quite busy around these parts.

Since then things have slowed down a tiny bit.

I quite my part time job and am now a full time stay at home mom.

We have gotten into a good routine here lately and it has allowed me to rediscover my love for writing and everything that comes along with that.

In that spirit, I have decided to pick back up this blog and share our adventures as a family of four with all of you!

I can't wait to reconnect with everyone and look forward to what is to come.

Holy-cow it's been forever...

Wow I can't believe it's been as long as it has been since the last time I wrote an entry for this blog.

Life took some unexpected & some expected turns in the past year plus since I've been here.

The biggest change has been that we have added a new little addition to our family...

His name is Oliver James LaRose and he was born on February 12th, 2014!

We couldn't be happier settling into our roles as new parents to this little farr

{& let me tell you, a fart he is :) }

I contemplated coming back here and blogging about our journey, however this space was my personal domain to write about myself, sure Andrew would make his appearances here and there, but this was all about me.

Now that that has changed I have decided to move over to another little place of the internet.

Happy Opening Day!

So today marks the official start of the baseball season {at least in my mind}.

As I am stuck inside an office all day I will be scrolling through Facebook and Instagram living vicariously through friends and family, that are just down the street from me, enjoying the festivities.

Check It Out...

Last week I mentioned a little opportunity I had been presented with & today I am going to share with you all just what it is. An incredible jewelry company by the name of Outfit Additions reached out to me a few weeks back about creating some outfits, using their jewelry of course, on their polyvore site. I was extremely flattered and excited to be asked and of course I accepted immediately! Once the outfits were about done I was asked if I wanted to do a series of blog posts talking about the outfits I had put together! Seriously, writing about fashion and jewelry, yes please!
